Balance the chaos

There is something about symmetry in interiors, and exteriors for that matter, that is so pleasing to me. Maybe it is the orderly calming effect it has on our daily chaotic lives. Even asymmetrical symmetry (does that make sense) draws me in. Ironically my favorite house style of all time is Tudor, which is about asymmetrical as it gets, but as long as the elements are balanced and one side is not heavier than the other it all works out. I found when going through my idea files, that I have an abundance of pictures with symmetrical elements. Here is a small sprinkle of them to get your symmetrical juices flowing for your rocking old house!
