New Orleans charm

Believe it or not this New Orleans cottage is new. The homeowner, Karina Gentinetta, purchased the 1930's cottage right before hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 and it was wiped out, a total loss. She and her husband built a new home on the lot where their old one stood. "I wanted to pay homage to the architecture and history New Orleans lost," says Karina. I think they did a fantastic job utilizing a mix of reclaimed and new materials to create a home that feels a part of the old city!
